Friends and DMs
People search, friend requests, online status and private conversations that outlive the room.
Room moderation
The host approves entry, kicks and bans. A private room never shows up in the public list – link only.

Posts, follows, media and a shared feed – so you do not lose the people you enjoyed watching with.
FAQ
What do we need to watch something together?
The app on every participant's machine and a link to the video. Placebo does not host films and does not distribute them: what plays is exactly what one of you brought into the room – a YouTube, VK Video, Rutube or Vimeo link, or a direct URL.
Is Placebo a streaming service?
No. It is a player with synchronisation and conversation around it. We neither host nor supply content, so whoever adds a link is responsible for it. See section 4 of the terms of use (in Russian).
How many people fit in a room?
Up to 20 without a subscription and up to 50 with Premium. The host sets the limit when creating the room.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows 10 and 11 today. macOS and Android come next, after the closed beta.
Do I need a powerful computer?
No. Video plays the same way it does in a browser, and synchronisation is a few messages per second.
How do I join the closed beta?
Write to support: @placebo_demo on Telegram or support@placebo.example. Seats are limited, but your feedback directly shapes what we build next.
How do I cancel a subscription or get a refund?
Cancel inside the app, in the Premium section – billing stops and the paid period runs to its end. The refund procedure is in section 7 of the public offer (in Russian).
